Modern Warfare 3 Mod
This was planned project to be built on Modern Warfare 2's engine due to the scope of what we had palnned, but we decided to begin development on the Call of Duty 4 engine in the mean time with temp assets. With no sight of mod tools for Modern Warfare 2 in-sight, progress on the project started to slow down. We had done work on three levels, one of which reached a somewhat playable quality state.
The story picked up right where Modern Warfare 2 ended, with players on the run as international fugitives. Across a 3 Act story we written, the attack on America moved from the East Coast (which had been hit with an EMP) to central USA hot spots such as Chicago. Meanwhile, Capt. Price, Nikolai, and MacTavish head to Russia to find Makarov and forge a plan to expose the true events of Modern Warfare 1 and 2. With Task 141, SAS, and Russian ultranationalist army on their tail, the four men race across locations in Europe to gather evidence and expose the truth. The line between good and evil blurred as the player embarks on the closing chapter of the Modern Warfare franchise.
Some notable levels included: piloting an AC130 to protect a VIP in a moving train, tank driving down the Magnificent Mile in Chicago during the invasion, breaching into the British Broadcasting Corporation, and an escort / stand off at an Airport in Russia to extract Makarov.
This was a two man team project between myself and talented Simon "Techno2SL" Tapping, doing scripting and geometry building, respectively. The two of us have a good team dynamic and understanding of the CoD engine to bring this project to life together. Our goal was to create all the levels into playable quality and hire voice actors and modelers near the end of the project to replace our temp assets.
This project is on hold for now.
