Game Overview
Call of Duty: World at War introduced darker, more mature themes to the franchise and offered players multiple ways to complete objectives. While staying true to the series’ signature gameplay, the game expanded immersion by having AI-controlled squadmates fight alongside the player — providing cover fire, clearing rooms, and adding intensity to every mission. My Contributions
I joined Treyarch as a contractor on the PC engineering team, where I helped build the Mod Tools that allowed players to create their own levels and mods at home. My work focused on:- Collaborating with engineers to implement user-generated content tools, server management systems, and pipelines for custom levels and mods.
- Developing training content and templates for the modding community, and updating them regularly with each major game release.
Used-Generated Content Tools
Tasks: design, distribution, training, community interactionI worked with the PC Tools & Library team to ensure the SDK, training content, and documentation were polished and ready to ship alongside the game at release. Our goal was to make map and mod creation as accessible as possible so players could focus on building content rather than wrestling with technical barriers.
To this day, hundreds of custom zombie maps and mods have been built with the tools we released — and the community is still creating more. Contributing to that legacy of player creativity remains one of my proudest accomplishments at Treyarch. I’m continually amazed by the content fans bring to life!
